Awake

There is a girl in your class. She smiles and laughs and shrugs things off. She blends in and doesn’t tell you the meals she deprives herself of, the voices telling her she’ll never be enough. Show her she’s beautiful, crinkly eyes, dimply cheeks and all.

There is this elderly lady living down the street from you. She may be a tough old bird, but bring her something from your kitchen or conversation the next time you pass by in lieu of your perfunctory nod.

There is this young man sitting in an office cubicle, not far from yours. He puts in crazy hours at work, an adrenaline junkie afraid of the echoes waiting in an empty apartment. Sometimes the echoes are muted if you extend an “Are you alright?”.

Did you know that you have the power to reach into a person’s heart and touch a soul ?

If you should gift anything, choose the gift of touch.

"In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing." ― Theodore Roosevelt
